One of the main charges that operate in Puerto Chiapas are mineral bulks due to mines found in the municipalities of Acacoyagua, Acapetagua and Mapastepec and demand that they have acquired the different minerals as raw materials for domestic and international products.
As evidence of this on July 5th, 2014 at 8:10 am arrived to Container Puerto Chiapas dock the vessel "MV ULTRA INITIATOR" which is 189.99mts long, 32.26mts wide and 31,244 gross tons; registered flag Panama, from Manta, Ecuador to export 26,000 tons of titanium ore from Cobalt United Industries company, which is destined for the port of Caofeidan China, the "MV ULTRA INITIATOR" undocked from Puerto Chiapas at 6:10 am July 9th.
From 2012 to date through Puerto Chiapas have been exported 103,809 tons of titanium ore yields, reaching 280 tons ship operation time (THBO) in mineral bulks. United Cobalt Industries is the company which has operated in port since then, setting the Multipurpose Terminal prototype plant milling and grinding of minerals, which, derived from its good performance and high product demand; in early 2014 moved to Pataste, where are formally making the plant; being the actual operated prototype, only 10% of what this new facility represents.
Puerto Chiapas in order to contribute to the economic development of the state, exploiting with responsibly natural resources which account, has become a logistics platform for international trade, benefiting residents and farmers in the state, achieving this way to speed up the economic flow.
